The department of studies on the United Nations of Americans Committed to World Responsibil- ity held an introductory panel discussion on the concept of a United Nations University last week. Prof. Elton McNeil of the psy- chology department at that time discussed the contribution of a UN University to international studies. He noted that there is a psychological problem involved in trying to become international. International studies generally. end up as national studies, he. maintained. One's interpretation of the international situation is always biased by his own culture. One sees what he wants to see, or what he needs to see, in other countries. Prof. Richard Meier of the nat- ural resources school and the Men- tal Health Research Institute said' that the UN University graduates and instructors would be able to pass on advice and information as well as technical assistance. Prof. Kenneth Boulding of the economics department noted that the UN University would be a symbol of truth and a quest of Program Notes Handel's "Messiah" will be pre- sented under the auspices of the University Musical Society, the University Choral Union and the Musical Society Orchestra. Lester McCoy will conduct the two per- formances, which will be held on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Hill Audi- torium. Land Ho!.. . Musket will present five per- formances of a musical comedy, "Land Ho!" this week. This orig- inal production by Jack O'Brien will be presented Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1 and 2 at 8:30 p.m., with a mat- inee at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Chekhov Play ... "The Marriage Proposal" by An- ton Chekhov will be presented at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30. The play, part of the Laboratory Play- bill Series, will be given in the Arena Theatre of the Frieze Build- ing under the auspices of the speech department. knowledge.
