Last Airlines Go to Metro The six airlines still operating out of University-owned Willow Run have made the final decision to transfer their services to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Contracts concluding three years of negotiations were signed by Eastern, Trans World, United Mo- hawk, Lake Central, United and North Central airlines. University officials say that Wil- low Run will continue to operate as an airport. Legionnaires Protest Fees In Resolution The state American Legion has passed a resolution attacking the University and Michigan State University as "discriminating against the children of veterans." The action is based on the two universities refusal to be bound by the state Legislature's provision that children of deceased and to- tally disabled veterans may at- tend state colleges-tuition free. The law was originally passed by the Legislature in 1935, but be- cause of the constitutional status of the universities, the attorney general held that it was not bind- ing on them. The Uniyersity never applied it, but MSU did until last spring. The American Legion action was taken at their state conven- tion, which resolved that: "The American Legion considers the action taken by the Michigan State University and the Univer- sity of Michigan* discrimination against the children of totally dis- abled or deceased veterans who have sacrificed much on the battle fields of the world to make these institutions possible."
