Summary of Action Taken by Student
Government Council at Its Meeting of
April 1, 1964
Adopted: Motion setting up an ad
hoc committee to study the possibili-
ty of establishing a student employes'
union.
Adopted: Motion mandating the Com-
mittee on Educational Affairs to study
a scholar-in-residence. plan to be fi-
nanced by funds raised by Council.
Adopted: Motion permanently dele-
gating the responsibility for Homecom-
ing to the Michigan Union and the
Women's League.
Adopted: That SGC send Tom Smith-
son and Doug Brook as observers to
the National Student Government Con-
ference at Washington University on
April 17, 18 and 19. Mary Beth Norton
shall be the alternate in case one of
the observers is unable to attend.
Adopted: That SGC hereby appropri-
ates $150.00 to pay travel and registra-
tion expenses for Mary Beth Norton
and Sue Orrin to attend the Confer-
ence on South Africa (sponsored by
USNSA and Oberlin College) in Wash-
ington, D.C., April 10-12.
Adopted: That SGC cooperate in the
sponsorship of the "End to Poverty"
Week and thus lend its name as co-
sponsor to the week's activities.
Further that SGC donate to VOICE
Political ?arty the sum of $20.00 in
order to help alleviate the costs for
this campus-wide series of programs.
