Using a rare documentary film shot in China twenty years ago, Prof. Gosling examines Chiang's purge of the Communists in 1927, the massive extermination cam- paigns against the Communist ar- mies in the early 1930's and the Communist's retreat to North China in 1935. Edward Lord Bridges, a life-long British civil servant, will describe his government and his life at 9 a.m. Sunday on WXYZ-TV. He is to participate in a panel with Prof. James Pollock, chair- man of the political science 4e- partment, and Prof. Arthur East- man of the English department, in a program entitled "Portrait of a Peer." Hans Heymann, economist for RAND Corporation will explain the reasons for Russia's apparent success in the technological race on "Soviet Technology" at 9:45 a.m. Sunday on WXYZ-TV. Prof. Niel Snortum, of the En- glish department, will discuss the Sophomores Choose 'Bells' For '60 Show "Bells Are Ringing" has been chosen for the 1960 Soph Show production, central committee chairmen Cody Engell and Mar- shal Kanter announced recently. The only co-educational class activity at the University, Soph Show will hold the first mass meet- ing for interested sophomores Sept. 28. Sophomores will build all the scenery, handle publicity, tickets, and make-up and cast and direct the production.
