and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Rack-
ham Aud. for all women interested
in rushing next semester.
Assistant Dean of Women Eliza-
beth A. Leslie, Panhellenic As-
sociation President Barbara Green-
berg, '61 and Joan Myers, '61,
Panhel chairman of rushing
counselors, will address prospective
rushees. Sigma Delta Tau's win-
ning Lantern Night choir will sing.
Women attending the meetings
are asked to, sit in groups ac-
cording to their housing units.
One Panhel rushing counselor will
be assigned to each unit to dis-
tribute rushing guides and an-
swer questions.
Rush registration will take place
at the Michigan League from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through
Saturday. Rushing will begin of-
ficially on Friday, February 17.

"Man on the floor" is the battle
cry of a small minority of men
who find themselves constantly
in enemy territory and consis-
tantly fighting a losing battle.
The troops in question are the
male custodians who are faced
with the task of keeping Mary
Markley dormitory clean. Each
day they are faced with a host
of rooms, corridors, lounges and
washrooms which must be cleaned.
To every other male at the Uni-

versity, the thought of a girl re-
treating to her fortified room
dressed in "battle fatigues" of
either pajamas or dainty, flowing
"unmentionables" would be ap-
pealing. To these battle scared
hardy custodians, however, the
occurance is everyday and "merely-
in the line of duty."
The reaction of the "enemy" is
different to say the least. At the
slightest indication that the men
are approaching, doors are locked,
corridors emptied and washrooms
evacuated on the largest scale.
The enemy retreats only to re-
appear when the threat of In-
vasion is over.
The one consolation for these
battle-worn troops are the smiles
they receive in the elevators from
the residents when the battle is
over. And, the custodians say, the
smiles of 1200 pretty girls are
much better than either the Purple
Heart or the Medal of Honor.

Wayne G. Huebner, '62 A&D,
was beaten twice early Sunday
morning.
. He was taken to University Hos-
pital with face and chest bruises
and a tooth injury. He was also1
suffering from shock. Huebner
was attacked while walking with
three friends near Stockwell Hall.
Only sligthly injuried, he con-
tinued walking with his com-
panions. A group of youths later
assulted him in front of the Michi-
gan Union. Police are investigat-
ing.
