WHE MICHIGAN DAILY 'Soph Show' Supporters Stuff Booth Yesterday the telephone booth stuffing rage invaded the cam-, pus, in a Soph Show publicity stunt. At 12:45 p.m. a contest was staged on the Diag between mem- bers of Alpha Epsilon Pi and Phi Gamma Delta fraternities to de- termine which group could "stuff" more people into a telephone booth. This stunt officially opened the ticket selling campaign for "Bells Are Ringing," the 1960 Soph Show. The show will be held on Nov. 17, 18, and 19 in the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre. Tickets are now on sale at the telephone booth on the Diag. The two fraternities were cheer- ed by members of Delta Phi Ep- silon and Delta Gamma. This was a final phase of the publicity campaign staged by the publicity, chairmen, Diane Jacobson, '63,' and Samuel Zell, '63. "Bells Are Ringing" is the story of a switchboard operator who finds herself entangled in the lives of the persons whose telephones she answers. 'Orphee' Set For Playbill Production The speech department labora- tory playbill will present Jean Coc- teau's "Orphee" at 4:10 p.m. to- day in the Arena Theater, Frieze Bldg. Generally considered Cocteau's most perfection expression of his theatrical aesthetics, "Orphee" is based on the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, Playbill publicity director Albert Katz, Grad, said, The play is representative of the neo-classical movement that flourished in Europe in the 1920's. Originally conceived for the pros- cenium arch, "Orphee" is experi- mental in many respects. The laboratory production makes lib- eral use of stylized movement, mime, vivid lighting, music and tape recorded sound effects. Cocteau's theatrical concept, considered quite radical, attempt- ed to find equivalents in the me- dium of theatre for the verbal images and rhythms that make poetic language an art form. Coast Group To Perform Folk Songs, "The Brothers Four" will offer popular, folk, and group singing in a performance at 8 p.m. to- day in Hill Aud.
