ST. at Washington St. By DAVE KIMBALL Jerry Bushong's 29-yard touch- down pass to Mike Bazany late in the first half was' all that Phi Epsilon Kappa needed as they hung an 8-0 defeat on Phi Alpha Kappa last night at Wanes Field to take second place in Profes- sional Fraternity football action. Bushong's pass, coming on a crucial fourth and nine situation, fell into the hands of fleet Ba- zany on the ten, who sprinted the remaining distance to the end zone. There were just two min- utes left to play in the first half when Bazany hit pay dirt. Four TD Passes Bushong, who threw four touch- down passes two weeks ago to spark PEK to a 28-0 victory over the Law Club, was off his game last night. The former Wolverine tackle had his first two passes intercepted by an alert Phi Alpha Kappa secondary, and he. missed three other attempts before con- necting with Bazany for the TD. Meanwhile, PAK couldn't get a consistent drive going and they never threatened. Their only drive of any length was squelched when Bushong intercepted a pass deep in his own territory in the first half. From here PEK, sparked mostly by Bazany, who alternated with Bushong at quarterback. drove to the game's only touch- down. Third Place Game In the third place decided Del- ta Sigma Delta scored two quick touchdowns in the first half, then held Delta Theta Phi in check the rest of the way to register a 14-0 victory o'er the law fraternity. Scott Davidson scored the first DSD TD on a pair of brilliant end sweeps, the second one. coming from five yards out for the score. Davidson passed to lanky John Downs for a 50-yard gain less than five minutes later to set up the second TD. It came on a pass from John Cameron to Dave Sut- ton. In the only other game played last night, Delta Sigma Pi scor- ed an 8-0 victory over Alpha Ome- go to take fourth place.
