EDUCATION: Henderson A ddresses Seminar Prof. Algo D. Henderson of the education school said recently that education today 'should neglect neither general liberal schooling or occupational and technological training. Addressing college and univer- sity administrators from nine for- eign countries attending the three- week Seminar on University Ad- ministration in the United States which will continue to Nov. 11, Prof. Henderson advocated both general and occupational educa- tion for every college student. "Citizens in a democratic sod.- ety, have responsibilities that .far exceed those of earlier genera- tion ," he said. "Today a citizen needs to have a cultural back- ground that will enable him_ to make wise choices relating to, the grew issues of the world." Prof. Henderson also noted the need for specialized occupational education, saying: "I the United States training for occupation has long been recognized as a function of the public school and univer- sity." Vulcan Taps. Engineering Neophytes Mighty Vulcan, holding court in his forge, Mount Atena, sat em- bittered at Man's misuse of his beloved fire. Now came to him his faithful: followers saying, "Mighty Vulcan, hear this candidate lie being an engineer, the only form of mankind the god 'will hear, will forthwith be put to the test, and, having passed the ordeal and proven his worthiness, will be admitted. So came Charles Gessner, 161E, and Gayle King, '611:. IOrganization I Notices Baha'i Stud, Group, Weekly Meeting, Oct. 27, 8 p.m., League, Conf. Rm. 1.
