THE MICHIGAN DAILY Cuban Talk Scheduled For Union Robert Taber, executive secre- tary of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, will speak at 4 p.m.. today in the Michigan Union, sponsored by the Democratic So- cialist Club. Taber, foreign news corres- pondent for a national television network, was in Cuba during the revolution in 1957 and 1958 and has just returned from a recent visit to the island. The dentistry school Is offer- Bing a scientific four-week dietary program that literally "starves to death" bacteria which cause tooth cavities. The "Cavities Control Program" which originated at the Univer-. sity laboratories several years ago, has since won the -support of the Michigan Dental Association and the state health department. It is being offered statewide to aid vic- tims of severe cavities. Effective results are obtained by withdrawing all those foods that aid the growth of lactobacilli, the main decay forming bacteria in the mouth. Nutritionist Mary Jane Hughey, who Joned the dental school in September, will conduct the con- sultations service. The program; is available only as a "referral" service. The pa- tient's regular dentist or physi- cian must recommend him for the diet before he can be accepted. Noted Conmic Comedian Mort Sahl and "The Limelighters" will give a program at -7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to- morrow in Ann Arbor High School'. Sahl offers commentary on the social and political scene and "The Limelighters," a folk song trio, will sing traditional songs with up-to-date lyrics. Panel members will be Prof. Robert E. Ward of the political science department,, Prof. Robert B. Hall, of the geography depart- ment, and Prof. John W. Hall, di- rector of the Center for Japanese Studies. Both Prof. Robert iall and Prof. John Hall have recently returned from Japan.
