The teas are organized by the Union-League. Besides the Hatch- ers, several student hosts and hostesses help with the serving. Tours of the 118 year-old house are a highlight of the parties. The house has many beautiful antiques in period style rooms as well as portions of the home fur- nished in contemporary style. Usually invitations to certain campus groups are sent, but any student is welcomed at any of the year's events. Student entertain- ment is also provided. The annual Christmas tea is the most popular. The Psurfs from the Law School traditionally pro- vide the vocal entertainment for this party. The teas bring together stu- dents from all over the campus. Very often students become so immersed in their own activities that they hardly realize the ex- istence of others. The Hatchers' teas serve to enlarge one's view of the University; at the same time the campus seems to grow small- er as its many unknown aspects become familiar to the student. Meeting the Hlatchers is a pleas-~ ure which every student can avail Ihimself of at these gatherings, The Hatchers truly enjoy meeting the students, An afternoon spent at a Hatch- er tea Is indeed rewarding.
