PITCHING SUMMARIES IP H R ER BB SO i hits and striking out six to pick up his second win of the season. Falcon hurler Andy Burke got himself in trouble by walking the first three men he faced. Cmejrek clouted his first homer and Michi- gan was ahead 4-0 before a man had been retired. Burkle retired the side without further damage, though Rick Sy- gar picked up a base hit with two out. The Falcon lefthander then struck out five of the next six men he faced. The other man was Cmerjrek. He homered again, but this time the bases were empty. A single by Pemberton followed by Bob Gilhooley's double brought in the sixth Michigan run, and Major League Standings the Wolverines held a 6-0 lead after four innings. They didn't get another base-runner the rest of the game. Meanwhile, Pemberton breezed along with a two-hit shutout until the seventh. Then he issued a walk to Stan Evans and, after retiring Ted Rose, gave up three straight hits. Wayne Burdette singled, Warren Baird doubled in a run, and Tom Kashner singled home another. A popout and groundout prevented further damage. The third Falcon run came in when Bob White doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rose. The win gives Michigan an 18- 12 mark and concludes season play at home. Coach Moby Bene- dict and his squad journey to Columbus on Friday to attempt to regain the Big Ten lead in a contest with first-place Ohio State. Come spring, we are all going to look trim as gazelles, lithe as panthers. Of course, slim clothes alone will not give us the Slim Look. We also need slim figures to put inside the slim clothes. And some of us-let's face it-have ac- quired just a touch of chub here and there, just a smidgen of part. liness fore, a whisper of ampli. tude aft. And how will we lose these un- wanted pounds? Well sir, ;there are several methods. We can go on one of those frantic crash diets : for example, 10 days of nothing but aster petals. Or 12 days of nothing but shaved ice. Or 14 days of nothing but bay leaves. Or 18 days of nothing but drumsticks (not chicken drum. sticks; real ones). Or we can do it the pleasant, relaxed, natural way. I refer, of course, to the Special K breakfast. The big K stands for Kellogg's and Special means that Kellogg's has made this cereal specially for those of us who are counting calories. If you start your day with 4 ounces of orange juice or tomato juice, plus 1r cups of Special K with a teaspoon of sugar, plus 4 ounces of skim milk, plus all you want of black coffee or tea, four wonderful things will happen to you! First, you will take in only 240 calories. Second, Special K will give you the nourishment you need to be. gin the day properly. Third, you'll find that you've had not only a slenderizing break. fast, but a delicious one too, be- cause when Kellogg's makes any cereal-including Special K-- their first rule is: it's got to be good to eat. And fourth, a Special K break- fast will prove to you that diet- ing doesn't have to be an ordeal. After all, if a diet breakfast can be a pleasure, why can't a diet lunch and dinner? So don't despair,- pudgy bud- dies. You too can be a style leader this springy,. Get with Special K and 1-411, A-- v-1-1a vn.. etnl:n lan.
