Monday through Friday, and Saturday 10:00 'til 11:30 A.M. Michigan football fans will be sitting pretty this fall with the new maize and blue fiberglass seats being installed this sum- mer. The $150,000 project will ease maintenance, increase pa- tron comfort and brighten the stands. A large maize "M" in the center of the east side of the stands will further beautify the seats--some of which have been around since the Stadium opened in 1927. The seats on the left in the picture have been re- furbished, while those on the right await their fiberglass cov- ering. Stop in and ask fo udy Fla MAJOR LEAGUE ROUNDUP: Dodgers Regain 1NL Top Spot By The Associated Press The Los Angeles Dodgers re- gained first place in the National League by three percentage points over the idle Cincinnati Reds by defeating Pittsburgh 9-4 last night. Cleveland dropped two games back of the idle first place Min- nesota Twins in the American League by losing to the Chicago White Sox 3-2. A victory would have put the second place Indians one game back of the Twins. The Dodgers spotted the Pi- rates a 4-0 lead, then exploded for five runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to whip Pitts- burgh. Maury Wills, who stole his 53rd and 54th bases of the season, started the big sixth inning for the Dodgers with a single. Willie Softball Schedule YESTERDAY'S RESULTS Math 22, Physics 1 Prescott 5, Dental School 4' MONDAY'S GAMES G. B. Tigers vs. N. C. Grads Chem Met vs. Eng. Mech. -11 SA E Davis reached base on an error. Ron Fairly doubled both home. After a base on balls to John Roseboro, Wes Parker singled home Fairly. Then Jim Lefebvre doubled home Roseboro and Park- er with the tying and winning runs. A collision between Cleveland left fielder Leon Wagner and cen- ter fielder Vic Davalillo with two out in the fifth inning helped thte White Sox beat the Indians. Don Buford's fly to left center fell for a two-run double, because of the collision. Floyd Robinson then singled in Buford with what prov- ed to be the winning run. Richie Allen's first grand slam homer of his career gave Philadel- phia a 4-2 victory over San Fran- cisco and a split of a twi-night doubleheader with the Giants. San Francisco took the first game 10-, 2 behind a 17-hit attack. Allen's grand slammer came in the first inning of the nightcap which offset later homers by Gi- ants' Willie Mays and Willie Mc- Covey. Mays' was his 23rd of the season and No. 476 of his career which gave him sole possession of second place on the NL all-time homer list. Mell Ott's 511 tops the list. But there was a cluster of other players breathing down the necks of both men. Among the pursuers were the formidable Big Three - Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, all of whom shot second round 71's. The charging Palmer, from La- trobe, Pa., was tied with a rugged little Welshman, Brian Huggett, one stroke back of the leaders at 141. Nicklaus, the overwhelming 3-1 favorite, was at 144 and Play- er, rallying despite an aching neck, was at 1'7. Lema, the flamboyant Cham- pagne Kid from San Leandro, Calif., played superbly but missed numerous short birdie putts to go four strokes over his record 68 of the opening day. So Devlin, the sinewy Australian who has von $53,000 on the Amer- ican tour without a tournament victory, fired a 69 and pulled level at the head of the reduced pack which goes into the final two rounds today. Of the United States' original nine-man contingent, only four- Lema, Palmer, Nicklaus and the 26-year-old Terry Dill of Mu- leshoe, Tex., qualified for the cli- mactic showdown. Dill, a lanky drink of water, shot a one-under-par 72, one put- ting the first seven greens, for 147. Ralston Moves Along in Tennis Championship MILWAUKEE (/P) - Defending champion Dennis Ralston, the na- tion's top-ranked tennis player, advanced easily to the quarter- finals as fifth-seeded Clark Graebner was upset yesterday in the 80th Western Open Cham- pionships. Ralston, 22-year-old Bakers- field, Calif., ace awaiting rein- statement from suspension from the Davis Cup team, swept past Billy Higgins of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., 6-3, 6-1. Graebner, rated ninth in the nation, was eliminated by Tom Edlefson, Southern California's No. 1 player, 6-1, 8-6. Edlefson is ranked 13th nationally. Art Ashe, the National Inter- collegiate champion from UCLA, rallied to eliminate former West- ern Open champion Bill Lenoir of Tucson, Ariz., 2-6, 7-5, 6-2. Sixth-seeded Marty Riessen, former Northwestern star from Evanston, Ill., who has been a bridesmaid three straight years in the Western, moved closer to an- other shot at the drown by defeat- ing Cliff Buchholz of St. Louis 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
