"Over the ground lies a mantle of white, a heaven of diamonds shines down through the night" . . . and so it goes. Michigan is known as the "Water-Winter Won- derland", b u t from December through February, Winter Won- derland,-best describes our "mitten state". And what fun it is! Winter! Brisk winds that bring rosy cheeks, well packed snow that crunches underfoot, and a white, white world that is all around. This is a good description, but it doesn't tell half the fun y.u can have in it! Besides the many po- pular sports, there are also the un- premeditated, spontaneous, abso- lutely goofy things which snake snow so much fun. Like a snowball fight (guys against gals, naturally!) Although you might get your face washed down your neck, you're bound to have a great time! Or how about traying? The hills around the, (campus provide the place, all you have to do is provide the tray places-the method of getting one is up to you!) If you want to find a more quiet side of winter, a walk in the Arb will provide the atmosphere. Here, you seem to forget the thousands of other students who are also a part of Michigan among the shel- tering trees topped with white rnd the vastness of the open field,. No matter if you prefer the zany side or the quiet part, or both, Mi- chigan is a Winter Wonderland, and winter provides the opportun- ities to let yourself go. So go ahead!
