(Continued from Page 1) Mike Zweig, chairman of Voice followed him, but he was a shade too militant for the majority. The students listened to him for a while, never shouted him down, but started stirring again after, he had been talking for a few minutes. "What we've got today," said Zweig, "is a loosening up. A lot of people are afraid of the power we are starting to generate and this will loosen them up, make them more relaxed." As Zweig spoke, the Life photog- rapher bent himself around a pillar and shoved the camera within a couple inches of the SDS? leader's bushy brown beard. The atmosphere yesterday was strangely devoid of intensity for such a big moment. The tone was one of the determination rather than euphoria. The peak of the sit-in was hit by Prof. Robert Sklar, one of the original signers of a pledge not to issue grades if the school ranks students for the draft. He told the body "the faculty is basically a conservative group. They prefer to sit-in the library and read books than sit-in themselves. But there are members of the faculty who are behind you. We cannot lead. You must lead. But we will sup- port you."~ A few minutes beforeone o'lock most had filed out of the lobby. They moved back across State Street, now in small groups, hun- gry for their lunch. Read and Use Daily ClOssifieds j The Uietofi chigan Gilbert & Sullivan Society Sresets He Ma S.
