felt that some membership requirement
was necessary.
On the other hand, we realized the
necessity of protecting the individual
political rights of organization mem-
bers. Many students, who might join
an organization to learn about it, would
be discouraged if their names were to
appear. on official membership lists.
Thus we felt that the old membership
requirement detracted from the Univer-
sity's educational goals to the extent
that it prevented students from experi-
menting with new ideas. .
We feel that our requirement of .the
names of two officers rests on some
preferred middle ground. Procedural
problems of accountability disappear
as the names of responsible members
of the organization are brought out
into the open. Through publishing
these names other stulents at the Uni-
versity are -better able to contact the
organization's leaders and learn of its
activities. Further,, we felt that re-
quiring officers names did not engender
the same civil liberties problems that
the old requirement did. Officers are no
longer learning about the ideas of the
organization but are actively promul-
gating them. Thus, we felt that they
should be ready to take responsibility
for these ideas.
The faculty adviser issue presented
many different problems. It was our
desire to increase the role of the fac-
ulty adviser in student organizations.

When you're looking for a Mickey Spillane
thriller, a Frodo Baggins adventure, a complete
history of the Hittites, or a used text for the
Principles of Plant Breeding, Hort. #323,
your best bet is Follett's. Whether it's a book
for pleasure reading, supplementary
reading, or required reading, Follett's
has what you want.
That's our business, supplying you with the
books you want and need. We have the
largest stock selection on campus and the
most modern facilities. And, because of our
association with the Follett College Book
Company we can get out of stock books to you
faster than anyone else in town. Follett's
also offer full exchange privileges on texts
up to 14 days from time of purchase.
But perhaps our greatest service to students
is our ability and willingness to bur back all
the books you don't want or need, even
those books which won't be used on this
campus next semester. Remember, when
you're buying or selling books, see Follett's
first, for selection, quality and service.
