Kenneth Woodward, Associate Editor in charge of Newsweek's religion section (SEE NEWS-
WEEK COVER STORY, March 20) since joining the magazine in June 1964 was graduated
with honors from Notre Dame University in 1957. He then received fellowships to continue
his studies, first for one year at the University of Michigan Low School and from 1958-59 at
the University of Iowa. Two years prior to joining Newsweek Mr. Woodward worked for the
Sun Newspapers of Omaha, Neb., where he was the first newsman to receive an award from
the Omaha League for a series of articles exposing real estate profiteering in Omaha's Negro
ghetto. He has also been honored by the National Council of the Episcopal Church for his
Newsweek article "Selma, Civil Rights and the Church Militant."
