The Bureau has its quarters in the Student Activities Building on the corner of Jefferson:and Maynard Streets in Ann Arbor. Its primary service is to help students find good housing. An up-to-date list of apartments and rooms is posted on -a bulletin board in the lobby adjacent to the Bureau in the Stu- dent Activities Building. The Off-Campus Housing Bur- eau does not solicit listings but accepts notices of vacancies by phone, letter, or in person from owners or managers. Notices are also accepted from students who wish to share their apartment with another or to sub-let a liv- ing unit before the expiration of their lease. Notices are accepted with the understanding that the University's policy of open occu- pancy regardless of race, color, or creed will be strictly followed without qualification by the own- er of the property listed. All vac- ancies listed are certified by the Ann Arbor Department of Build- ing and Safety Engineering as adequate and safe housing. The Bureau cannot keep cur- rent a list of specific vacancies for mailing purposes. Vacancies come and go rapidly - more often than not, today's list is outdated to- morrow. Large apartment build- ings, however, take care of their individual vacancies and list in the Off-Campus Housing Bureau only the phone and address of their rental offices.
