SEPTEMBER 1.1965 iT a: "AN Jk7i.FAM AL }. 1:7JL;AA AJLUIVALDJVJA l 17 4000 a Recovered Gri By DALE SIELAFF With the loss of 17 lettermen from last year's Michigan football team, the return of the injured Barry Dehlin, Jack Clancy and John Rowser eases some of Head Coach Bump Elliott's pre-season problems. Dehlin, faced with his third position change in as many years, has been slated as a defensive guard for his senior season. 1 Injured in last year's Purdue game, Dehlin fought his way back into shape in time to play in the Rose Bowl. At that time he was still being used as a linebacker, the position he turned over to Frank Nunley. But with the re- turn of both Nunley and Captain Tom Cecchini, Elliott will be us- ing Dehlin both at guard and at fullback. He had fullback exper- ience his sophomore year. Physically Fit Prior to yesterday's workout at Ferry Field, Coach Elliott stated he felt that Dehlin is back in top shape and is showing no ill effects from either his knee in- jury or operation. Clancy, out of action for an entire season, as well as last spring, has recovered completely, according to Elliott. Used as a halfback two years ago, Clancy is, being tried at split end. Earlier, Elliott had considered using Clancy on both offense and de- fense, but now has tabbed him for the offensive squad. r t FullTime & Evening Employment MEN 18-35 If you are free from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. four evenings each week and occasionally on Saturday, you can maintain your studies and still enjoy a part-time job doing special interview work that will bring an average weekly income of $67. Cage Squad ter Travels poise well in a somewhat difficult situation." So ended Michigan's only basketball tie in recent memory. The tour wound up with a week spent in Algiers where the Wol- verines won their only game with no trouble to complete the tour with a mark of six wins and a tie. Strack felt that the Algerian fans and players were not as well in- formed with respect to basketball rules and skills, as they were in the other three nations. Eleven Michigan players made the trip. Included were last year's starting five-Bill Buntin, Cazzie Russell, Larry Tregoning, George Pomey, and Oliver Darden, as well as six substitutes- Jim Myers, Dan. Brown, John Clawson, Craig Dill, Dennis Bankey, and John Thompson. Buntin did not return with the group as he traveled to Budapest where he helped the United States gain a Gold Medal in the World Student Games held there last weekend. All told, Strack recounted the trip as "100 per cent successful." He added, "I feel that it was one of the great experiences of my life, and I think that it was a great experience for the boys, too. Traveling, playing, and teaching in these countries was interesting and worthwhile." Things be- gan to get out of hand and when the regulation time ran out with score tied at 78-78, the Greek team refused to play overtime. Later, I think some of them re- gretted it.
