Starr Beats
Stars 27-
CHICAGO -,P,-The Green Bay
Packers, champions of profession-
al football, rolled with case be-
hind the passing of Bart Starr in
the first half and then coasted
to a 27-0 victory over the College
All-Stars last night.
A crowd of 70,934 saw the stur
dy Packer defense completely con-
tain the cream of collegiate foot-
ball as Starr connected on a pair
of first half touchdown passes aft-
er Don Chandler had booted two
first quarter field goals.
The victory was the 23rd for
the professionals against nine loss-
es and two ties in the colorful
series which began in 1934 and
the second in a row for the Pack-
ers who annihilated the 1966 All-
Stars 38-0.
The last time the All-Stars were
victorious was against the Pack-
ers, 20-17 in 1963.
Green Bay's granite defense
didn't allow the All-Stars to get
into Packer territory until the
fourth quarter when Bob Griese
hit Mel Farr with a 27-yard pass
but Farr was hit and fumbled the
ball with Dave Robinson recover-
ing for the Packers on the Green
Bay 47.
Starr, who connected for touch-
down passes of 11 yards to Boyd
Dowler and 22 yards to Bob Long,
hit on 14 of 20 attempts for 204
yards but was withheld from ac-
tion in the second half.
After Robinson recovered Farr's
fumble, the Packers marched in
for another six points, with Jim
Grabowski rambling 22 yards for
the score.
