Future plans include a new ,cur- riculum, method courses, and hopefully a full Teacher Prepara- * tion Program housed in the Resi- dential College by 1970. Lehman reports that a staff has been selected for the program consisting of himself, Prof. Max Wingo and Prof. Geraldine Scholl. Prof.' Scholl says the main aims 40 of the 'program will be to create "a similar kind of experience" and allow for a more "controlled education" for the students. She feels the setting of the Residential Program should pre- vent repetition of material, and "ease the adjustment of transfer students." The program will focus on pre- student teaching including courses in sociology and. psychology, and will allow potenitial student teach- ers to tutor and work with ele- mientary school students without O being faced, with %the full respon- sibilities-of a student teacher. Dorthy Gieer._ Grad who was an assisting graduate: student to the ;program this year, says the pro- gram expects between 20 and 50 ,women admitted to it by next fall.,q She says that the reason no men are included in the program pres- ently is because .of the lack of space in housing and the small number of men in the education school. Gier feels the enrollment of stu- dents in the- prografn will be re- stricted' by the desire of upper- classmen to live in apartments and not in residence halls. The' one-year, program is re- stricted to juniors, but it is hoped graduates will return to meet in seminars with newly. enrolled.$ juniors.
