Entering the season with a phe- nomenal record of 45 straight dual meet victories, the Wolver- ines were able to add two more to their s t r i n g before being stopped by a rugged Notre Dame squad, 7-2. The next match with Illinois gave Michigan its second straight loss, 6,3, but, it then went on to win its remaining matches. Strong Third Despite the loss of five stars, however, the team finished a sur- prisingly strong third.
