THE MICHIGAN DAILY UY;A° Un3U Ulir Ski Club Plans Full Sehedi 6E$ 7, 9 le I By STEVE ROGERS Once again this year, skiing enthusiasts at Michigan can break the drudgery of their school workt by participating in their favorite winter pastime. The Ullr Ski Club sees to this. As the University's official skiing organization, the Club offers both recreational and competitive ski- ing to anyone interested, from beginner to expert. The Club, which is still organiz- ing this year's activities, meets every Wednesday night in the' Union. Two meetings have been held thus far this year, with an attendance of about 120 at each. Pleased with Interest Paul Marttila, President of the Club, is quite pleased with the interest shown by the students toward skiing. With about 50 members in the fold so far, he still hopes for larger turnouts at the meetings and an increase in the membership. Marttila is especially anxious for inexperienced skiers to join the Club. "Almost half our skiers," he commented. "have never skied be- fore. All it takes to join the club is a genuine interest in skiing." The Club gives assistance to beginners and more advancedj skiers, both in lessons and equip- ment selection. Another feature of the Club is the showing of ski movies which are both educational and entertaining at the meetings. The Club has its own ski slope,; located north of Ann Arbor at activities for this season is the Peach Mountain.
