I-M Readies
For Biggest
Cage Season
By MIKE GILLMAN
Two hundred teams in 10 differ-
ent leagues is what the I-M de-
partment isbracing itself for in
the coming basketball season.
Earl Riskey, director of Michi-
gans' intra-mural sports program,
reports that his staff is now in the
process of scheduling many games
for the winter.
Hopes for Increase
Looking forward to the biggest
season yet, Riskey said that he
hoped to increase the number of
leagues in operation from nine to
10. The new addition will be a "B"
league for professional fraternities.
The I-M building is now open
evenings and Saturday afternoons
for practices. Any organization de-
siring to reserve a court may do
so by phoning the building during
the day.
The intramural staff asks that
any Independent team wishing to
participate should register with
the I-M office at once.
Riskey said that there were 25
Independent entries in the foot-
ball league. Most of those will
probably play basketball also, but
any other group of hoopster hope-
fuls desirous of playing are in-
vited to sign up. He also said that
anyone interested in refereeing
should contact his office.
