THE MICHIGAN DAILY CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING Detroit Contract I _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ By The Associated Press DETROIT - The Detroit Lions yesterday gave coach George Wil- son another one-year contract to coach the National Football League team. Terms of the pact were not made public. Made Official The Board of Directors of the Detroit Football Co. met yesterday to make it official. Lions officials said no decision had been reached yet on the status of Wilson's assistant coaches, but Wilson expressed belief all would return. The Lions, with two games re- maining, have won 4, lost 5 and tied 1. ' Won Titles Wilson, an assistant under the late Bo McMillin and Buddy Par- ker for eight seasons, suddenly was thrust into the head coaching job in the summer of 1957 when Parker suddenly resigned. Under Wilson, the team Parker described as "the worst I ever saw" went all the way to the Western Divi- sion championship, winning the crown in a playoff against San Francisco. They won the World Title by drubbini the Cleveland Browns, 59-14. Including their two champion- ship victories, the Lions of 1957 had a 10-4 record. There are two games remnaining on the 1958l schedule and the Detroit Club has a 4-5-1 record. GEORGE WILSON I ... another year 'Army Coach May Resign NEW YORK MP)-Earl (Red) Blaik may resign as Army football coach after 18 years to become an executive with a major industrial company, the New York Journal- American said yesterday. Max Kase, Sports Editor of the paper, said in a bylined story that although Blaik has turned down numerous business offers in the past, he may accept this time "because of a reported inharmoni- ous situation which has developed at West Point." Academy Superintendent Gen. Davidson's decision to rule out any bowl competition for the unbeaten Army team nettled feelings at the Academy and in Washington, Kase wrote. Blaik said there is no basis for the report. CHRISTMAS CARDS A fine assortment to choose from Overbeck's Bookstore 1216 S. Univ. BUSINESS SERVICES Give this season's new style trick.
