But he quickly dispels any no- tions of resentment about sitting out a great portion of the Trot- ters' games in favor of Chamber- lain. "Nobody As Great" "Actually it's a real pleasure to play behind Wilt," says Burton. "From a person like him, all you can do is learn more and more. I don't think anyone is as great as he is." The story of Burton's sensa- tional rise to the number one unit is a tale of success in itself. Burton chose to attend Michi- gan State last year after setting all sorts of records at Muskegon Heights. But he was forced to drop out in June because of aca- demic difficulties. Worst Record in Sight Green Bay is on the way to its worst record in 39 years in the pro league. The Packers now stand at 1-7-1, as they gave up a staggering total of 539 yards in Sunday's loss to San Francisco. As usual, after a game with .the Bears, Detroit is beset by injuries. Quarterback Tobin Rote, ends Jim Doran and Dave Middleton are ail- ing, along with fullback John Henry Johnson, who is still having trouble with his leg. Detroit has lost only one of these holiday games since 1950, that, being in 1956 when Green Bay handed the high-flying Lions a 24-21 defeat which eventually cost them the Western Division crown.
