The junior tailback, who played behind Brad Myers for the first four games of the year, is first in rushing yards, rushing average, total yards, punting, scoring and pass completion percentage. Harper boosted his rushing marks last week with 68 yards in 17tries. His running tot'ils for six games include 278 yards and a 5.7-yard average. High Completion Percentage In passing, Harper has com- pleted eight of 13 attempts for a 61.5 percentage. Sparked by Harper, Bob Ptacek, Stan Noskin and Brad Myers, the Wolverines have a 52.5 team per- centage on 101 attempts. Harper has punted for a 37.1 mark compared to 364 for Myers, the only other kicker. The former has had his average cut by sev- eral kicks into the end zone. Twen- ty yards are subtracted for each of these. Ten Have Scored Ten Wolverines have broken in-' to the scoring column, with Har- .per (22), Myers (21) and Ptacek (20) in the lead. Illinois has leaders in two de- partments. Rich Kreitling, Illini end, is currently tied for the' lea- gue lead in pass catching and quarterback Bob Hickey, while not having a good percentage of com- pletions, has gained considerable yardage through the air. The Illini are plagued by in- juries that may hurt their chances in the Michigan game Saturday. The top three left halfbacks-L.T. Bonner, Dick McDay and Doug Wallace-are out for this week, and DeJustice Coleman has movedl from right half to ease the situa- tion. Hickey is also injured and may be out for the game on offense at least, and end Ron Hill is still on the questionable list. By The Associated Press For the second straight week, the Associated Press top ten poll shows that LSU, Iowa and Army ran 1-2-3 in the balloting, with not too many points separating them. Then came the implausible Northwestern team, which lost its. top ten rating aftera defeat byj Iowa and regained it- by handing Ohio State its first conference defeat in two seasons. Louisiana State was given the No. 1 position on 82 of the 162, ballots and drew 1,443 points on the usual 10-9-8 etc. point system. Iowa drew 54 first place votes and 1,379 points and Army drew 1,105 points.
