a 4-2 record, the Giants could

more Colts in Yankee Stadium.
One-Sided Contest
Baltimore's own Municipal Sta-
dium Sunday was the site of the
NFL's worst one-sided contest of
the year as the Colts devastated
the hapless Green Bay Packers,
56-0.
Despite the fact that their star
quarterback, John Unitas, was
taken out with a possible cracked,
rib, the Colts rolled up the highest
score in their history and served
championship 'ndtice on the rest
of the NFL.

Bruins Seek
NHL Lead
The Boston Bruins defeated De-
troit 3-1 Saturday, and shut out
Toronto 2-0 Sunday, to extend
their unbeaten streiak to five
games.
The Bruins spurt has moved
them to within one point of first
place Montreal in the National
Hockey League standings. The
Canadiens lost their only game
over the weekend to Chicago, 4-2.
Qordie Howe scored his fourth
goal of the season, all of them
have been against New York, to
lead the Detroit Red Wings to a
2-1 win over the Rangers Sunday.
The win gave the Wings undis-
puted possession of third place.

day at Packerland, as Coach
Scooter McLean indicated that he
would probably "axe" seven or
eight of his players who have a
"defeatist attitude." He indicated
that the move would be made be--
fore their game on Sunday with

Bears Lose
Los Angeles retarded the Bears
title hopes Sunday before 100,470
fans in Memorial Coliseum. Halt-
ing a late game drive by Chicago,
the Rams, behind the running of
Jon Arnett and the passing of Billy
Wade, tripped the Bears, 41-35.
San Francisco (3-3) tied with
the Rams for third, rallied behind
Y. A. Tittle to nip the cellar-dwell-
ing Detroit Lions, 24-21. Leading
21-17 with ten minutes to go, the
Lions watched Tittle come off the
San Francisco bench to direct a
touchdown drive which obliterated
any "delusions of grandeur" that
the defending champion Lions
might have had left.
Cardinals Tie
The Chicago Cardinals appeared
on their way to a .500 status, but
two touchdown passes by Phila-
delphia's Norm Van Brocklin gave
the Eagles a face-saving 21-21 tie.
Pittsburgh tied Washington for
fifth in the eastern division with
Bobby Layne passing the Stcelers
to a 24-16 win over the Redskins..
Reiefer Hyde
Earns Award
NEW YORK P) - Dick Hyde's
efforts as a relief pitcher will not
go unrewarded as the 30 year old
righthander has been voted the
American League Sophomore of
the Year for 1958.
Hyde won 10 games and saved
19 others as a reliever. Throwing
his most effective pitches from
an unusual low position, Hyde
compiled an excellent 1.75 earned
run average.
Norm Siebern of the New York
Yankees was runner-up and his
teammate Tony Kubek finished
third in the Associated Press poll.

RADAR SCOPE OBSERVERS
The Engineering Psychology Group of the Willow Run' Laboratories is
interested in establishing a roster of University students who have had
experience as Radar Scope Observers. Individuals having this special-
ized skill are urgently needed to participate as paid observers in con-
tinuing research programs of Project MICHIGAN which involves the
viewing of radar displays. The first experiments are to be conducted
on campus during the month of November. These will take about 10
hours for each observer; the required hours con be arranged to suit the
student's convenience. The rate of pay will, of course, depend on pre-
vious experience and student status. If you wish to have your name
placed on the roster and desire to participate in the November experi-
ment, kindly phone at once to arrange for a preliminary visit.
