Nissle of the School of Dentistry died Sept. 7 at his home following a heart at- tack at the age of 54. Prof. Nissle graduated from the school in 1929 and since that time served continuously on the faculty. He was head of patient admissions and diagnosis at the University's dental clinic and was assistant director of the partial denture de- partment. Mann, associate director of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation Institute: Graduate and Postgraduate Dentistry, said of Prof. Nissle's contribution to the University, "Dr. Nissle occupied a key position in the School. He was an extremely kind man, with a genuine personal concern for pa- tients and students alike. His loss will be keenly felt-by the faculty, the many students he counseled, and the community." Prof. Nissle was an instructor at the University from 1929 to 1945, assistant professor from 1945 to 1949, associate professor until 1955, and a full professor from 1955 until the time of his death. Prof. Nissle was born in Ann Arbor in 1904, and graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1923. He maintained a private practice from 1929 until 1951. Prof. Kauper Visits .Pol1and Prof. Paul G. Kauper of the law school was one of seven American law professors selected to observe a conference on legal rules in the Socialist state held in Warsaw, Poland.. The conference, sponsored by the International Association of Legal Science, was held during the past week. Prof. Kauper is the second Uni- versity law instructor to visit a communist-bloc country 'this year. Dean E.
