In the first of the two games played, Psi Omega edged out a narrow 5-4 victory over Phi Ep- silon Kappa, The contest was loosely played as both pitchers tossed good games but had poor support. Winning pitcher George Hoaglin gave the physical educa- tion majors only four hits, while PEK's losing chucker, John Greenwood limited the dental stu- dents to two. In the nightcap, the usually talent-laden Nu Sigma Nu was upset by the Law Club, 11-8. Big sticker for Law Club was Homer Bradley who lived up to his name by poling out a homer in the lawyers' big five run first inning. He later added a double. The only batter to hit for the distance for the Nu Sigma Nu's was Serge Delgado in the fourth. Psi, Omega and Law Club will meet next week for the title. Residence Hall B' action saw Cooley dump Winchell out of the first place playoffs, 9-8, and earn the right to face Gomberg in the finals. Bill Stoll was Cooley's dis- tance hitter as he tallied the game's only circuti clout. Cooley is the defending 'B' soft- ball champion. HAMBURGER STEAK . r . " FRIED HAP . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Liberty and Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor, Mich. Former Wolverine coach, Ben- nie Oosterbaan, did a little remi- niscing last night as he spoke be- fore the athletes of South Quad. Oosterbaan spoke to the audi- ence at the annual sports ban- quet concerning his playing days at Michigan, and especially his meetings with the "Galloping Ghost" of Illinois, Red Grange. Said Oosterbaan, "One of our linemen was once asked if he had ever tackled Grange. And he proudly answered, 'No, but I touched him once. He wistfully remembered things such as the days when Michigan State was a practice game for the rest of the schedule, and said, "How I wish those days would re- turn!" He, recalled happily that the Wolverines topped Illinois and Grange in his senior year (1927), in a game in which all 22 men who started played the full 60 minutes.
