The' Wolverine squad finished with 93.5 points to narrowly edge Wisconsin, who finished with 91 points. Host Purdue finished third with 78 points, Wayne State was fourth with 75 points and De Pauw trailed the field with 52 points. The Michigan Club will irepre- sent the midwest next weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association's Spring Inter- sectional Regatta in Boston. Michigan will challenge M.I.T. for the Boston Dinghy Club Cup, symbolit of victory in this meet. M.I.T. narrowly defeated the Michigan team last season for the intercollegiate championships. In the Purdue regatta Thede was the high point skipper. Com- peting in the 'A' division he led the field. His boat was crewed by Bob Martin and Linda Quiggle. In the 'B' division the Michigan squad consisted of Ron Sisson, MORRILL'S ,F 314 South State St. Phone NO 3-2481 i skipper and John Goldsmith, crew member. Sailing is a relative newcomer to the Michigan sport, scene and it does not have varsity recognition. Therefore the Sailing Club must officially compete as a club rather than as a team. In "A" league action Allen- Rumsey, powered by Gary Wiren's two home runs and five R.B.I.'s stopped Chicago House, 11-6 last night at Wines Field. Larry Stinson of Greene House pitched and batted his team to a 16-3 victory over Wenley yester- day afternoon Hinsdale stopped Huber, 10-9, as Jerry Koch banged out a four bagger and a double. Larry Hitch- ingham also collected a home run. Andy Carrigan and Ed Fulton blasted round trippers as Van Tyne smashed Strauss, 13-9. Dave Giancola collected the win. Earl Nuechterlein's triple -and Tom Rutila's double led Michigan to a 9-6 win over Reeves. Henry Riddle's two doubles powered Anderson past Kelsey, 14-10. In remaining action, Cooley topped Williams, 11-6; and Win- chell stopped Taylor, 9-6. In "B" league action Huber ripped Michigan, 34-14. Gerald Newson collected a home run and two doubles.
