THE MICHIGAN DAILY PAGE For Direct Classified Ad Service, Phone NO 2-4786 SAN FRANCISCO (P)-A spokesman for the Bakery Drivers' Union said today that $4,000 in union contributions to the United Crusade would be withheld until Girl Scouts promised not to sell non-union cookies. The crusade is a combination of area-wide welfare groups. Wendell Phillips, secretary, said the union had learned that several scout units in the bay area had ordered cookies from non- union bakeries in the Midwest. "What we want is a promise that the girls will buy local,' union-baked cookies in the future," he said. The union is under the teamsters. Mortimer Fleishhacker, Jr., crusade chairman, said he would not enter the dispute. "I got into a dispute a few years ago when the Campfire Girls were selling non-union candy in their annual mint sale," he said. "That was enough for me." from 100 to 3 P.M.
