NATURAL FORM-A composition in ink by Prof. Albert Mullen is part of his project performed under a faculty research grant from the Graduate School. Prof. Mullen's work in this project is currently on display at the Museum of Art. Museum Features Pottery, Many Arnerican Exhibits By SHARON EDWARDS The Museum of Art is currently featuring three new exhibits. One of these is a Rackham Grant exhibition of the work of Prof. Al- bert Mullen of the Art School. The show is composed of work done on a faculty research grant in the visual arts. It is one of a series of such exhibitions., Prof. Mullen's project was the study of the light and the topo- Y graphical. configuration of the Southwest landscape for painting. Field work was done out of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Aspen, Colora- do. f Artist Returns The artist then returned to Ann Arbor, where he is now concluding the project. The paintings and drawings on exhibit are direct studies done in simple media. The second new exhibit is a large show circulated by the Amer- ican Federation of Arts. Including both established and unknown artists, the show has been chosen as characteristically American in intent and in method. It will close on March 21. Note Pottery Collection The third and newest exhibit is a collection of pottery by Alix and Warren MacKenzie of Stillwater, Minnesota. The show exhibits 53 pieces which will be sold at reason- able prices to the general public. The sale will be handled by the MacKenzies, who will be at the Museum from March 22 to March 25.
