The Big Ten athletic directors have voted that the winner of the Michigan-Ohio S t a t e football game Saturday get an automatic invitation to play in the Rose Bowl, Commissioner Bill Reed said yesterday. The athletic directors are gen- erally requested to vote for "the most representative team," but have decided this year to make Saturday's winner the automatic choice. Should there be a tie, Reed said, then there will be another vote to select the bowl team. "I will take it (the vote) over the tele- phone as fast as possible on Satur- day night," Reed added. Normally, when Big Ten teams tie for the right to go to the Rose Bowl, the team which has gone last is eliminated. In this event, it is expected that Ohio State would win the vote, since Michi- gan represented the conference in 1964 when they defeated Ore- gon State, 34-7, in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State captured the Big Ten crown in 1961, but their faculty voted against the journey. Be- cause of this, the Buckeyes hav- en't played in the Rose Bowl since 1957. )i it r{ 7 .) f j r 1 XEROX COPIES Fast-Cheap 211 S. State 769-4252 1217 S.
