tee and the Joint Economic Commission. He is
chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign
Relations.
Fulbright has taken the initiative in demon- R
strating a desire for peace and has used his posi-
tion in trying to influence LBJ's policy-making
on Vietnam. His efforts helped to open ques-
tion the legality of United States intervention in
what he claims wds a civil war.
