Born in Canada, Mr. Price was the first non-European to study campanology-the art of bells and bell-ring- ing-at the world famous carillon school in Belgium. After serving as carillonner at To- ronto, the Rockefeller Carillon in New York, and the Houses of Parliament in Ottawa, he came to the University in 1939-where he has stayed ever since. Now the only resident pro- fessor of campanology, Mr. Price plays almost every day at noon and 5 p.m., or has one of his handful of students play for him-and the entire campus. Tours of the Bell Tower and its 70 tons of bells can be arranged through the Office of University Services.
