Mark Harris of the Canterbury House. Stavely has modeled the network along Y UH the lines of Open City in Detroit, a similar although much m o r e far-reaching project. The Network organizers hope AS COUN C I LM to build a complete file of con- -steered throug tacts in Ann Arbor which callers Ann Arbor a can be referred to concerning -introduced th questions on areas such as drugs control ordina and the draft. They began by us- -worked to ma ing the Canterbury' House files ation' and min but now are depending on infor- -introduced da mation being brought in by their fair settlemen operators or phoned in by outside sources. In addition, Stavely says,, the F O R CONTI ' network organizers sare "scouring the community to see who is pro- SENTATION 0 viding needed services and what others should be provided.' He hopes the network will let the RE-ELECI various agencies know of e a c h other's work and eventually have a hand in corordinating them. Although now in its infancy, the Ann Arbor Network has m a n y larger plans for the future. The netv-ork hopes to provide aid to runaway teens through a service known as Ozone House. Presently the Network handles incoming calls from runaways by providing some personal contact between the operator and the runaway However, beginning this summer, Ozone House is expected to be a b1e to provide temporary ac- comodations for 20 people a n d serve at least one full meal per day to 40 people. Ozone House is to be staffed by four to , six resource people who A have had no formal training but will talk with the runaways and refer them to qualified people if Aterpolm eoetotc-W l ther roles ee ooteh Still nical. The staff will also be able to act as go-betweens, for t h e teens and their parents. Along wth this it-is hoped that the pro-! W H . Ject will be able to provide inex- I pansive legal, medical, and psy-' C ological aid. The network organizers h o p ea t .at Ozone House will play an- c 'her role as a community center for junior high and high school students. W n S "Presently, these people have B s no place to go to without paying' us money," says David Bowman, the network project innovatgr. "We A I R would like Ozone House to be able to be used for meetings, showing films and other things." .*SPONSOR lar IN CONCERT T® HORN ENSEMB] THE BRAHMS N DAY: 2:30 P.M. HILL AUD. LE PROF.
