Ah, California! While Michigan coach Bo Schembechler was being greeted by a repre-
sentative of the governor's office, the team members signed autographs, took snapshots
and were interviewed by the hostile Los Angeles press corps. Wolverine fans who ar-
rived early took advantage of temperatures in the sixties (sigh...) and went to the
beach. As the sun rose on New Year's Day, it found thousands of Michiganders, some
from -the "official" tours, waiting with baited breath for the infamous Tournament of
Roses Parade. Of course the highlight of the parade was the presentation of the 1970
Rose Bowl Queen and her court - a lovely bevy of young lovelies from lovely Southern
California. Lovely.
