Kearney's return could be all the team needs to overcome Wis- consin, the indoor winner, for the outdoor title. Strength in some other events could push the Wol- verines past the Badgers with ease. "Tell them it's free," Martin grins in reference to tomorrow's meet. The Federation Relays will get under way shortly after noon, giv- ing everybody a chance to sleep in, and Ferry Field is a great place to get some rays. *i We dislike "close line" advertising when it comes to vocational place- ments, BUT we need to interview GRADUATES .in the following fields: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ACCOUNTING METALLURGY If you would like the opportunity of interviewing with some outstanding smaller firms for positions offering -excellent career opportunities, call 769- 4800 for an appointment. The 'crossers tallied three times in each quarter, and were never seriously threatened by the visitors. Bob Gillon, Narl Davidson, and Bill Toonajian each had three goals. Moore Davock scored two, and Bill Priebe had a single goal for the winners. The club meets Chicago at Wines Field tomorrow at 2 p.m. Navy edged out the Michigan Sailing Club for first place in a regatta held March,31 and April 1'. "It's always a great meet," notes Martin, "but we'll only send those guys who aren't tied up with 'exams." Both meets are relatively minor ones, with the Big Ten champion- ships still five weeks away. That gives the Wolverines an addi- tional three weeks of preparation before the trip to Minneapolis on May 17 and 18. But, after finishing second in. the conference indoor champion- ships, the squad is taking ad- vantage of the two warmups to polish up the weak points which could spell the difference between first and second at Minneapolis. Martin's prime concern right now is getting middle-distance man Tom Kearney ready for the outdoor championships. Kearney injured a tendon in mid-February, and has been unable to compete since. "There just doesn't seem to be anything we can do for it," Mar- tin points out. UNIVERSITY 1 1 13 SOUTH U. 2' SC. 1A INdeer '08 S.f MAIN ST. The Michigan Rugby Club takes on Ohio State tomorrow in a game at Wines Field, but there will be a big hole in the starting lineup. Allan McLean, a regular at wing since coming to the United States from Scotland in 1963, played his last game with the club last Sat- urday. McLean has been a club stal- wart for four years, both on the playing field and in administra- tion. He served as club secretary in 64-65, as president the following year, and as captain in the fall of 1966 (despite having a broken arm). Honors He played his first .rugby as a nine-year-old schoolboy and went on to earn a position on the Edin- burgh University team. He came to Michigan after graduating with honors from Edinburgh with a degree in economics.' McLean returns to take a post in the Economics Department at the new University of Stirling after leading his team to the cham- pionship of the Southwest Ontario Rugby Union in its first official season of operation (1966). The club meets Ohio State to- morrow in an attempt to improve upon its present record of one win and a draw. The "A' game will begin about 2:15 p.m. preceded by a seven-a- side rugby contest.
