A freshman at Northwestern attend- ed the Grand Opera at Chicago and missed the last car yo Evanston. He was determined to get to his eight o'clock the next morning so he char- tered a special car which reached Evanston in the early hours of the morning. The relay team of Yale broke the two-mile relay record at Buffalo re- cently. Their time was 7 minutes,: 55% seconds, breaking the formerrec- ord of 8 minutes 4% seconds by nine seconds. A Yale freshman in the team ran the one-half mile in 1 minute 54- % seconds. The Cornell team which secured second place to Yale in the relay, broke the previous world's record by 5 seconds. One hundred and ten degrees were awarded to students at the recent fiftieth convocation at Chicago. The Illinois baseball team has been practicing outdoors for over a week and has played several games for practice already.
