It appears from a notice in another colum that a meeting of the "Bird Club" will be held soon. Are you a bird? The recent scheme of the Michi- gamua Society in regards to the erection of a club house is one that should be supported by everyone con- nected with the University. It is a very feasible undertaking and if car- ried out Michigan would have her long desired club house. No one can fail to see the advantage to be de- rivedtfrom such aplan, and tistime that we are taking hold of the matter and pushing it through. It will devel- op and keep strong our spirit and with the support of everyone at this time a club house would be an as- sured thing. COLLEGE OSIP. The book is a it I I sixteenth century copy of a transla- tion of Mohammed Ben Musa Al Kho- warizime, who was a celebrated math- ematician of the school of Bagdad. It is the first known treatise bearing the name "algebra." An inscription in the book shows that it was translated by Castiensis in 1183.
