Johnson was suddenly called to Lima, Ohio, last night. Mrs. E. W. Dow, nee Babcock, died last Sunday after an illness of only a few days. At last night's meeting of the Ath- letic Board A. B. Groesbeck, of Grand Rapids, was elected to the board. W. D. Herrick and R. S. Danforth left for Chicago last night to compete in the Western Intercollegiate tennis matches which occur today. The '99-'01 championship game which vas scheduled to be played yesterday was postponed to Thursday on account of several of the players having ex- awinations. President James B. Angell will spend the summer at Prinkipo, in the Sea of Marmora, about fifteen miles from Con- stantinople. He will sail for Amnerica from England September 17. Professor Hinsdale delivered the Mt. Pleasant and Detroit, June 16 and June 23 respectively. The subject of both addresses will be "Art and Life." The students and faculty of the homeopathic department of the Univer- sity held their annual banquet Friday evening, June 10. Mr. R. A. Clifford, of Wadsworth, Ohio, acted as toast- master.
