There is a general regret over the ursettled condition of the Western baseball championship, but there seems to be no immediate desire on the part of any one of the big teams to claim superiority over its rivals. The article of ball put up by Michigan's team this year has been the clean, fast, sports- manlike game that rejoices the heart of the supporter of intercollegiate ath- letics. The players and the coache:s deserve sincere praise for the consci- entious work they have done and foi the manner in which they have kept the trust the University reposed in them. A winning team and a depleted treasury are seldom coincident, but Michigan is not alone in this state of affairs; the war draws away too much attention from the national game. With "Sally" Lunn captain and the majority of the old players back, the Daily predicts that at the end of next season there will be no doubt as t where the championship belongs. Women's League.
