BURCHFIELD, New Phone 43. 106 East Huron Street two of the most distinguished orators in the United States to appear before the Oratorical association as did Chauncey M. Depew, Booker T. Wash- ington and Joe Jefferson. These men are Geo. R. Peck and Henry- D. Esterbrook. The former gave the oration at the unveiling of the Logan monument and has become famous for the brilliant addresses he made before the University of Virginia and'the University of Chicago. He is one of the most sought after of men upon great public occasions. Mr. Esterbrook is known as a bril- liant young orator, and he it was who ceeated such a profound enthusiasm in his addresses before the Michigan Club banquet at Detroit, the Union League at Chicago and at a recent banquet given in New York city, One of these gentlemen will appear before the holidays and the other one later in the year. The object of the Oratorical Association in securing such distinguished and able men as these is partly to develop the art side of oratorical work and partly to give the students an opportunity to hear good speakers. The standard already set is high and will be kept as high as pos- sible. Only the best orators and actors will be honored by such an invitation as has been extended to these gentle- men. Dual Tennis Meet. The Western Intercollegiate Tennis meet will be held in Chicago June 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The association has been running for several years, having each spring a large tournament at Chicago, each in- stitution being represented by its two best men. Michigan did not enter until last spring and, in the meet took second place.
