There is a tendency to applaud the misplays of the opposing teams and to jeer the players, who should be shown every respect. A university of our standing ought t; have sufficient appreciation of the spirit, in which college sport is conducted to desist from such practice. We ought to show visiting teams how we should like to be treated, and there should be a feeling of friendly rivalry and a de- sire to see our team win in a fair and square game, in which the visitors feel that it is an honor to be beaten, rather than to have them go away feeling that they have been disgraced. It should be the duty of every loyal student to frown down any hostile demonstration of that sort. Mass Mteeting Last Night. An enthusiastic mass meeting of the Athletic Asociation was held last night in the gymnasium. The object of the meeting was to arouse interest in the Chicago game today. At the opening of the meeting Dr. Carrow, in a neat speech, presented the cup contributed by himself to ;he winner of the punting contest, Mr. Hannan. Speeches were then. mae by ;President Weinstein, Coaches Watkins and Clark, Manager Keith and Miller. President Weinstein has appointed the following men yell masters for today's game: A. C. L. Atkinson, chief; assist- ants, Bennett, Elbel, Hildner, Eaman, Page, S. Neal, F. Stephens and Toet- zel. The assistants are asked to be at the grounds a short time before the game is called and receive their badges from Mr. Atkinson. Prof. Worcester's Lecture.
