The play is constructed on the lines of legitimate comedy. Its plot is cleverly devised and there are no un- necessary complications in its develop- ment. A multitude of merry situations are introduced, many of them excruciat- ingly funny but none descending to broad farce. The characters are skil- fully drawn and several are strikingly original. As Others See Us. Commenting on the action of the State of Maryland in appropriating money for Johns Hopkins University, the Out- look for April 16 says editorially: "There is no question that the stand- ing of the University of Michigan has not only given the state of Michigan its peculiarly high reputation among people throughout this country, but has made the name of the state farniliar to people on the other side of the Atlantic who, as a rule, are largely ignorant of geographical divisions on this contin- ent." The University Gun Club held its regular shoot last Saturday afternoon at their grounds on S. State st. The scores made averaged higher than at any previous shoot held by the club. They were as follows: Oliver hit 7, missed 8; Churchman hit 16, missed 9; Woodrow hit 8, missed 17; Shepherd hit 12, missed 13; Johnson hit 10, missed 15; Flaiisburg hit 15, missed 10; Whittelsy hit 5, missed 20; Soule hit 16, missed 9. Average, 13 out of 25-, Mr. Ben Bush, a profesisoul shot from Kalamazoo, was present, and gave an exhibition shoot. Out of 50 shot- Mr. Bush broke 47 pigeons, which is a re- markable record, and especially so - as lie used a light 16-bore geun for the work. The next regular shoot will be held next Saturday afternoon, and Cap- tain Shepherd is very desirous of hav- ing all students in college who shoot at all to come out.
