Alderman Plotke of anti-nigh hat no- toriety took another ordinance to the Council chamber last night with the intention of clinching his claim to fame as a lawgiver. The ordinance will prohibit the flaying of football anywhere within the limits of the City of Chicago. It is thought likely many of the Aldermen may take the ordinance ser- iously today and possibly pass it. This would cause consternation or some- thing worse if it should befall, for it wosild not only put a bar to the big game next Saturday between the Chi- cago and Wisconsin University teams and to the other big game scheduled for Thanksgiving day between the Chicago and Michigan University elevens, but it would put a sudden and heart-wrenching period to the hopes of fame as "full backs" and "center rush- es" which now swell hundreds of schoolboy breasts or animate "flying wedges" of urchins in backyards and vacant lots. The anti-football ordinance reads as follows. "Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago: Section 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or persons to assemble for the purpose of witnessing or playing, tak-I ing part or engaging in the game known as football anywhere within the corporate limits of the City of Chi- cago. "Section 2. Any person or persons who shall violate any of the provis- ions of section 1 of this act shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5, nor more than $50 for each offense. "Section 3. This ordinance shall go into effect froai and after its passage and publication."-Chic-ago Tribune. Roland Reed Tonight. Roland Reed, in "The Wrong Mr. Wright," which he will present at the Athens Theater tonight, has struck a most congenial role and the best play lie has had ini several years. The theme is oneof several mistaken Identities. Mr. Reed is a wealthy San Franciscan whose confi- dential clerk absconds with $50,000. After offering a reward of $5,000 for the fugitive, Seymour Sites (Mr. Reed) concludes it cheaper to play detective himself and save the $5,000. In so doing he visits Old Point Comfort, as Mr. Wright, and there find his wealthy niece who is also incognito, her maid masquerading as the mistress, in or- der to ward off heiress hunters. To make things eyen more interesting, beautiful Isadore Rush, as a brand- new woman detective on the trail of the forger, strikes 'Mr. Wright" and is certain "she has her man." Besides Mr. Reed and Miss Rush, there is a very well balanced company. Chrysanthemums free for football game Saturday. See advertisement on last page.
