He has engagements to play with the 'Boston Symphony Orchestra in Boston, Nov. 19 and 20. Dec. 9 he will play in the college audi- torium at Cambridge. The New General Secretary. It has been generally known that the University Y. itt. C. A. is this year in charge of a new general secretary, H. NV. Rose, but probably few students know much abotil Mr. Rose's previous college work. He graduated sc.ven years ago from the Fort Atkinson High School, from which place he went to Beloit College. At >his latter place he was prominent in athletics and Christian work; e played on the Beloit baseball and football teams for two years. After graduation from Beloit lie at- tended the University of Iowa for post- graduate work, where lie was General Secretary of the University Y. .. C. A. His special work at the Univirsity of Iowa was in sociology antd history. Mr. Rose while at Beloit was a mem- her of the :Chi lota chaptetr of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. In regard to the work of the Y. I. C. A. this year he states that the wor-k would be along the old lines, and that no new departures are planned. The Purdue team arrived from La- fayette yesterday afternoon and are quartered at the Cook House. All re- port in first class condition and are determined to give Michigan a hard rub.
