Manager Lisemer is to be con.. gratulated on the fact that he has secured for the Athens tonight that splendid drama, "The Girl I Left Behind Me." This play is one of the few of its kiad that demonstrates that a melodrama need not be neces- sarily replete with bombast, rant and absurdities of speech and event. 'The Girl I Left Behind Me" is thorough- ly rational, that is the secret of its charm; it is thoroughly startling, that is the secret of its great success, not only at the Broadway Theatre, and the Empire, but also at that old- time playhouse, The Academy of Music, where it was staged last in New York. " Unquestionably one of the strongest plays with a war element that has ever been put on the stage is 'The Girl I Left Behind Me. ' The proof of this is that it has outlived many of those that came after its advent. Every city from the Atlantic to the Pacific has seen the drama, and all have set the seal of their approval upon it.'- Tribune. C. G. Roe, '99, vice-president of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and M. M. Hawkshurst, '99, delegate of the Michigan Chapter, left Saturday night for Philadelphia, where they will attend the sixty-fourth annual convention of the fraternity. Other members of the Michigan Chapter who will attend are H. B. Hoyt, '95, and A. H. Zacharias, '99.
