The Oracle Board held its first meeting of the year yesterday after- noon. Owing to the illness of F. C. Nash, who was unable to be back this fall, H. C. Stephens was elected to the board to fill the vacancy in the managing editorship. But little progress has been made with the plans for the publication thus far. Committees, however, have now been appointed to look after the details and expect to do active work from now on. The board hopes to get the publi- cation out by Thanksgiving, but the delaysmthey have experionced thus far may make the date somewhat later. Ace Shoiag the Proper Spirit. President Weinstein stated to the DAILY yesterday that for the first time in the history of the Athletic Association the young ladies of the University are joining the associa- tion in considerable numbers. Over thirty have already become members and many others have signified their intention of joining. The associa- tion feels encouraged by this fact and hopes that many more will join. The Board will have a number of the Athletic Association buttons put on stick pins and every girl who joins will receive one of these. The mem- bers of the faculty are also joining this year in larger cumbers than ever before. To Furnish Trophy Room. A complete set of furniture has been ordered from the Heald Furni- ture Co., of Grand Rapids, which' will e placed in the Trophy Room of the Waterman Gymnasium. The furniture will be paid for partly out of the Trophy Room fund and partly from the private subscriptions of the different members of the Athletic Board which they have generously contributed for the purpose. The room will be furnished just as soon as the furniture arrives and will be thrown open to the members of the Athletic Association for inspection.
