Presidlent Angell's report to the
Regents shows the number of stu-
dents at the U. of M. has more than
doubled since 1884.
The Illinois Republicans met last
night in the law quiz room and made
arrangements for a permanent or-
ganization. Committees were ap-
pointed to draft a constitution, and
solicit members in the different de-
partments. Plans for going home
to vote were discussed and are under
consideration. An ajourned meet-
ing will be held in the law lecture

permitted to finish partly by the
university system, electing a major
study which shall be regarded as
equivalent to one-half of their re-
maining number of hours, and elect-
ing the other half according to the
credit system.

Robert Hall, Ph. B.; L. E. Burgess
and W. J. St. John for degree of
Ph. C.; A. F. Merchant, F. W. Pul-
lan, ''. P. McClure, and L. E.
Krotz for degree of Bachelor of
Laws.
The appointment of five quizmas-
ters, salary $soo, was recommended.
Floyd R. Mecham, of Detroit,
elected Tappan Professor of Law, in
place of Professor Abbott, resigned.
Clarissa Bigelow was appointed as-
sistant in practical anatomy, in place
of Henrietta Carr, who resigned be-
cause of ill health. Recommended
that John W. Durkee be appointed1
as assistant in hygienic laboratory.
W. L. Blair was appointed assistant
in electrical therapeutics. The den-
tal department was voted ten addi-
tional chairs.
